quote: Thank you Lubos,
Yes, the photo you sent is indeed an un-armored cab LVT4. Great photo, I have not seen that one yet. Do you know where it comes from? Archives somewhere? Do you have a larger scan that you can send me? I would like to add it to my files.
If you look closely, you can see the front bow armor plate, the additional armor plates mounted to the cab top and forward surfaces and the front cab armor plate is sitting on the bow top deck.
The "Project Guide" series of books are a little different than the previous "Project:" series. In the original "Project:" books, they were based on using a particular aftermarket kit (TRAKZ) to build the model.
The new series guides the modeler through making all of the needed pieces and changes themselves. There is some utilazation of aftermarket items, a few photo-etch bits, some brass cast machine guns and mounts. This is simply because these parts are readily available and who wants to have to scratch build .30 & .50 cal MG's for every project!
I do not plan on offering any castings of my parts, it is just too time consuming and really isn't worth it for the meager returns. I am however designing a photo-etch detail set for the LVT4, for TRAKZ.
back to work,
David
